This page explains more simply my legal and ethical obligations, personal data collected and why, and your rights under UK GDPR — so you can feel informed and confident engaging with my practice.
Professional Qualifications & Registrations+
* Daniel Bellerby, BSc (Honours), PgDip, MA, FRSPH, MBACP, MNCPS (acc). Highest qualification: MA Integrative Counselling (Distinction, BACP Accredited). * Professional body registration: British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) #420421; National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) #NCPS7815; Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) #141091. * Trained in integrative and relational counselling and psychotherapy to apply modalities such as psychodynamic, attachment, person-centred, somatic, transactional analysis, emotion-focused, CBT, ACT, solution-focused, existential, and systemic frameworks. * I hold a UK Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check for working with children and vulnerable adults, renewed regularly in line with safeguarding best practice.
Indemnity Insurance+
* I hold full professional indemnity insurance, in line with the conditions of each professional body membership, and which I consider essential for professional and ethical practice. Details can be provided on request
Booking Sessions+
* Clients have their own login for access to the Client Login Portal * Clients can use the Client Portal Login to book, amend, organise, pay for, and cancel session(s)
Fees, Cancelation Terms, & Practice Information+
* Session fees, Adults: An honour-based self-select system is used for adults - adults self-select between a fixed reduced rate and a fixed full rate, based on their own judgement of what they can afford * Session fees, Others: are charged per session at a fixed rate as advertised for Under 24s and dual clients (couples, partners, families) * Payment: is made in full upon booking a session via the Client Login Portal. The most common payment methods are accepted * Alternative payment structures: can be discussed upon request * Cancellation policy: Sessions can be changed, modified, or cancelled up to 24 hours before the session is due to start * Refund Policy: Sessions can be refunded if cancelled before the 24-hour minimum period
Data Protection+
* To contact me regarding data queries, email: daniel@therapy-with-daniel.com * I am registered with the ICO as a data controller; ICO registration number ZC194683 * Personal information necessary to provide safe, effective therapy and to meet my professional and legal obligations, including: Contact details (name, email, phone number, address) — to arrange and manage appointments; Emergency contact details (where provided) — for use only in a genuine safeguarding or crisis situation; Session notes/clinical records — to support continuity of care, in line with BACP/NCPS professional guidance and Insurance's record-keeping requirements * I retain clinical records for 7 years after the end of therapy in line with professional and insurance policies * I undertake Clinical supervision as required by BACP/NCPS ethical frameworks, to maintain safe and effective practice — anonymised aspects of my work are covered in supervision * Data is shared with no third parties unless requested by a binding court order/law enforcement request for legal and safeguarding requirements * Payment and billing information — fees are collected and processed via secure third party Konfidens UK: (support@konfidens.com) * The lawful basis for processing this data is primarily consent (you agree to therapy and to my data practices as part of engaging my services) and, for health-related data, explicit consent under UK GDPR, given its status as special category data * Data subject rights: Access the personal data I hold about you; Request corrections to inaccurate data; Request erasure of your data (subject to legal and professional record-keeping obligations); Object to or restrict certain processing; Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your data has been mishandled (ico.org.uk)
